CoJEF I (2011 - 2013) Guidelines

In this section you can find the final guidelines of the "Consumer Justice Enforcement Forum (CoJEF)" project, financied by the European Commission’s Specific Programme “Civil Justice” 2007-2013.

Its importance lies in building the capacity of consumer organisations in the member states to assist consumers in realising the potential of the internal market by giving them the security that their rights can be effectively protected, even in cross-border contexts.

This was achieved though activities that brought together lawyers from consumer organisations with other lawyers, legal academics, regulators and judges.

This network provided for a fruitful exchange of ideas which helped build the expertise of the consumer organisations involved both as regards practical enforcement strategies (conducting litigation or working with partners such as national enforcement authorities or the Commission) and the particular tools available under European law eg. injunctions, ADR and small claims procedures.
